Forecasts say what is expected; a camera shows what is happening. Every camera here is published by its owner for public viewing (a venue's YouTube channel, a webcam portal, NOAA, JMA). Nothing is taken from private or unsecured cameras.
How each camera is shown depends on what its owner allows (Cameras: player, still image or link): the owner's own player (loaded only when you click, to save data), a still image we may display (NOAA buoys, JMA satellites), or a link to the official page.
How to read it
Status: live / online / reachable / stale / offline (Live webcams -- see it with your own eyes). "Last checked" is when the app last tested it.
Why says what the camera is useful for (sea state before a ferry, flooding in the streets, haze).
Filters: area, kind, "working only" and a radius around home (Maenam).
Why it matters for Koh Samui
Before a ferry, a look at the north-coast and pier cams shows whether the strait is white with breaking waves; in a monsoon surge the street cams show standing water. Official warnings (TMD, Marine Department) always win.
