Posts of Thailand's Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM): situation reports, response, and disaster / emergency-area announcements.
Data and trust
DDPM is the government body that declares disaster (emergency assistance) areas and coordinates relief. Its website's data service needs a login token, so the app reads DDPM's official X account @DDPMNews (linked from disaster.go.th) every 30 minutes. Every post is kept as an official item; a post that announces a disaster or emergency-assistance area puts a red flood marker on the province it names.
Limits. Only the latest ~20 posts are visible each time; a declaration published only on the DDPM website or by a provincial governor may appear first in the news (see Incidents reported). No post does not mean no disaster.
An official item raises an incident's confidence to "high". A declared province shows "declared: official" on the Thailand page. Posts are in Thai; the province names are matched automatically.
An official declaration in Surat Thani or Chumphon means the mainland side of the ferries is formally a disaster area: expect road closures and disrupted buses and trains.
